iPhone Down

So two weeks ago, my iPhone met an unfortunate demise. I was getting out of the car at the post office and struggling with a package I was about to mail. At some point my phone must have fallen out of my pocket without me noticing.

At any rate – I spent the next day completely racking my brain thinking I’d misplaced the fool thing. Then at about 6:30 pm my neighbor knocked on the door – he had my phone.

Now here’s the weird story. My phone obviously spent the night being run over by cars. Lovely. The amazing thing is that it still worked. On the iPhone – when you receive a text message, the message comes up on the screen for 20 seconds or so before going back to sleep mode. A woman saw my phone in the street and picked it up. Just then my neighbor had texted me about a website issue – she saw the text come through and happened to know my neighbor. She went over to his place and gave him my phone.

You can’t write stuff like that… even better is that it saved me several hundred dollars not having to replace the phone. I took it to Apple and paid their (still expensive but not as bad as a new phone) exchange fee and received a new phone.

Needless to say I’ve changed how I carry this phone around now…

… and special thanks to the unknown woman who found my phone!!!
